High-Temperature Alloys / Superalloys

GH4738 (Waspaloy) (UNS N07001) — Composition, Properties & Supply

GH4738 is a Ni-Cr-Co base precipitation-hardening superalloy (equivalent to US Waspaloy), strengthened by γ′. It offers high tensile and creep strength up to about 760 °C with good oxidation resistance, and is the standard material for turbine discs, blades and high-stress fasteners in aero and industrial gas turbines.

How do I choose between GH4738 and GH4080A?

Both are γ′ precipitation-hardened nickel superalloys. GH4738 (Waspaloy) has a higher cobalt content (12–15%) and higher strength, serving to about 760 °C for highly stressed discs and blades; GH4080A has low cobalt (≤2%) with better cost control for mid-temperature bolts, springs and exhaust valves below 800 °C.
