Frequently asked questions
What is the maximum service temperature of Inconel 617?
In oxidising atmospheres 617 resists oxidation to about 1100 °C. For load-bearing design the temperature must be chosen from creep and allowable stress data (for example ASME BPVC Section II Part D); long-term stressed design commonly falls in the 900–980 °C range.
