Shanghai Hangbo Alloy Achieves GJB 9001C-2017 Weapon Equipment Quality Management System Certification

In August 2026, Shanghai Hangbo Alloy Group Co., Ltd. successfully obtained GJB 9001C-2017 weapon equipment quality management system certification. Issued by the Equipment Development Department of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, the standard is mandatory for organisations developing and producing weapon equipment and associated products.

How GJB 9001C-2017 differs from ISO 9001:2015

GJB 9001C-2017 adopts ISO 9001:2015 and adds military-specific requirements, focusing on configuration management, risk management, key process control, quality information management, stricter nonconforming product control and full traceability across product realisation.

Scope

The certification covers production and sales of bar, plate, tube, strip, wire, forgings and precision machined parts in high-temperature alloys, nickel-base alloys, precision alloys, titanium alloys and other special alloys.

Hangbo operates vacuum induction melting (VIM), electroslag remelting (ESR), 500-ton and 100-ton CNC forging, ring rolling, automated heat treatment, steel strip rolling and precision machining, backed by complete testing capability including optical emission spectrometry, tensile, impact, hardness, metallography and non-destructive testing.
